On November 5, the National Office forPhilosophy and Social Science Planning had announced the tender result of second round of National Social Science Fund of 2015. The project

"the collation and digital engineering of dialect in local records” was formally approved as major project. This project is directed by Professor Wang Qiming of School of Humanities as the chief expert. The project is the second one being established by National Social Science Fund after “The Research of Goethe’s work and its translations” in last year in Southeast Jiaotong university. In this round, the number of funded project among universities in Sichuan ranks the third place behind Sichuan university and Southwest University for Nationalities.

National Social Science Fund is for the highest level of research projects. The major projects are the most influential ones among them, which are very difficult to be approved.

The success of this application creates a good situation in research of arts. It is profited not only from professor Wang’s contribution but the foundation of School of Humanities and elaborate planning for the work.

Personal Profile

Professor Wang Qiming is the director of Department of Chinese as well as the leader of Sichuan dialect research center. He was given many titles such as “accomplished graduate professor”, “Sichuan academic leader".

Professor Wang is the executive director of Chinese Exegesis Society and Linguistics Society of Sichuan province.

He wrote numbers of academic paper and books. Besides, he presided over many national major academic projects.

He had been invited to many famous universities at home and abroad. Professor Wang’s research fields including Chinese philology, editing and publishing and collation of ancient books.
