Global Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Researched in our School

On April 21, president Chen Jinchuan and vice president Wang Shuhui from Global Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship came to School of Humanities to meet with assistant dean Xiang Zhongmin and student work leader Cao Qiao. They talked about education and training of innovation and entrepreneurship during the interaction.

President Chen firstly introduced the present situation of Global Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship before coming up with his own opinion. He referred that“soft techniques” is essential in innovation and entrepreneurship. He hoped that the model of higher education could become the combination of core curriculum, specialized course and the education for innovation and entrepreneurship. At present, more than 60 colleges have built system for innovation and entrepreneurship with various positions and ideas. President Chen said that with the development of innovation-driven strategy, the talents constitution is undergoing profound changes. Future talents can be divided into 2 types: people with research abilities and people with divergent thought and courage. The latter can adapt to society better, so training soft abilities is a duty to universities.

Assistant dean Xiang Zhongmin said School of Humanities should also make contributions to improving students’ soft abilities by playing out its advantages. President Chen had acknowledged the importance of humanities as well.“Thoughts lead to actions”, he said.

At last, League Secretary Liu Shuang offered a brief introduction about innovation and entrepreneurship work in school. Both sides are looking forward to further cooperation in personnel training.
