On January 12, 2015, Dean Yang Wenquan, Director Wang Qiming, Vice Dean Gan Lin, and Assistant Manager Yang Jianjun, together with the International Office went to Beijing Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), to report and communicate the related training work about international students. Deputy Executive Director of the Confucius Institute Headquarters, Wang Yongli, Deputy Director of Hanban, and Yuan Li, the Confucius Institute of Management Department Director, and Guo Jiaoyang, Director of volunteer work and other related leadership had a forum with the Dean Yang and his entourage.Frist, Dean Yang Wenyuan and Vice Dean Gan Lin conducted a comprehensive report and presentation about training work of international classes’ students supported by the SWJTU’s first Confucius Institute Special Scholarship which undertaken by our School of Arts and Communication. In the strategic background of our university to further promote the “internationalization”, detailed description of our school was delivered from disciplinary platform, the faculty, training programs, education management and teaching performance and other aspects as well as experience Chinese culture activities for international students at inside and outside the classroom, all of which bright highlights the unique advantages of our school in Chinese learning, dissemination of Chinese culture and arts, and fully demonstrated the strength and charm of our School of Arts and Communication. Dean Yang Wenquan expected that Hanban continued to give strong support in the aspects of student enrollment and the Confucius Institute building and so on, to deepen and expand the platform and form of international promotion of Chinese language in our school, and to make more achievements to enhance our country's soft power. After listening to the reports and see the relevant materials submitted by my school, these leaders of Hanban fully affirmed the efforts and achievements of our school in aspects of student teaching and training, and put forward new requirements on the future of the Confucius Institute student enrollment and management, and wished our university and school paid more attention to the construction and development of the Confucius Institute, strengthened business communication and coordination between Hanban and our school, and continuously improved the level and quality of International promotion of Chinese language. Finally, Both Dean Yang Wenquan and Director Wang Qiming denoted that according to Hanban Confucius Institute student enrollment criteria, would take effective measures actively to strengthen foreign propaganda efforts and attract more outstanding international students from different countries and regions to school to learn Chinese language and culture.

On January 13, Dean Yang Wenquan and his entourage went to Beijing Language and CultureUniversityfor learning and communicating training work. Researcher Zhang Wangxi, the Beijing Language and Culture University assistant principals and the International School of Chinese education director and the Deans of its affiliated Chinese Academy, Chinese Education Academy, Intensive Chinese Academy and Chinese Preparatory Education Academy, conducted a comprehensive introduction to Dean Yang Wenquan and his entourage in the aspects of admission level, enrollment, training objectives, curriculum and at all levels of management and characteristics of the Beijing Language and Culture University. Dean Yang also fully introduced our school’s work in the promotion of Chinese Language Council International, and pointed out that a lot of training modes and practical experience of Beijing Language andCultureUniversityare worth learning from and taking as reference, and hoped to strengthen cooperation and common development. Dean Yang Wenquan also issued a letter of appointment to Prof. Hua Xuecheng, Lecture Professor employed in our school and the Dean of College of Humanities of Beijing Language andCultureUniversity.

During this period, Dean Yang Wenquan, Director Wang Qiming communicate with Deputy Party Secretary of Beijing Normal University Professor Liu Li on disciplines, graduate teaching and other related issues, and consulted with Director Wang Biao of Peking University Press Language newsroom and others about our school academic monograph publishing matters, and called on Mr. Li Xingjian, Ministry of Education, the State Language Commission Advisory Committee, and Distinguished Professor Mr. Ma Qingzhu and Mr. Li Jianguo.
