Teachers and Students from School of Humanities Attended Cognitive Poetic Forum

Teachers and students of School of Humanities were invited to go to Hainan province to attend the 5th Cognitive Poetic forum during December 1 to 3. This forum was undertaken bytheInstitute of Cognitive Science and Hainan Normal University. Over 100 experts and scholars from 44 colleges and university such as University of Kentucky, Tsinghua university, Renmin University of China,Shanghai Jiao Tong University, attended this forum. This forum was divided into three parts: Conference Address, free talk and report from young scholars. The address and discussion mainly focused oncognitive aesthetics,cognitive queer-theory,cognitive ecocriticism,cognitive Poetic of space etc, which can represent the highest level in Cognitive Poetic and Cognitive literature area.

Professor Zhi Yu and Ph.D student Li Tianpeng from School of Humanities attended this forum and took academic exchanges with others in address and young scholars report. After the short opening ceremony on the morning of December 1, professor Zhi addressed the conference with Embodiedness turn of Modern Chinese art ofvisual cognition. In part of young scholars report, Li Tianpeng made a statement of the difference between Cognitive Poetic and traditional literature research, and the awareness and mission of Cognitive Poetic.

In recent years, the research center of comparative literature andcontemporary cultural studies in our school have received some academic achievement in literary theory,visual culture,cognitive science, cognitive linguistics. On behalf of School of Humanities, professor Zhi and doctor Li changed ideas and communicated with other experts at home and abroad during this forum. Meanwhile, they gave expression to related issues to present academic results which teachers and students from our university have already achieved.
