The First Symposium on “New Literature: Classics and Questions”

In order to deepen the discussions on the interaction between “classicalization” and " problematization ", and maintain the historical vitality of the study of modern Chinese literature, MCLA and School of Humanities of SWJTU will jointly organize the symposium. The first seminar will be held in SWJTU from December 1st, 2018 to December 2nd, 2018. Experts and scholars from CASS, Peking University, Nanjing University, East China Normal University, Sichuan University and other famous domestic universities or research institutes will participate in the event.
With the theme of “ Lu xun and the Influence of His Works”, the symposium targets on “The Problematization of Modern Classical Literature " and “Modern Literary Writing on Classical Issues”. Discussions will focus on the following topics:
1.Rereading of Lu xun's Classic Works.
2.Lu xun's Impact on Modern Writers and Their Concerns.
3.The Formation, Misappropriation and Rewriting of “Lu xun's Tradition”.
