♣ Teacher Profile
Yang Qin, female, is a Professor of School of Humanities, Southwest Jiaotong University, and a Doctor of Arts.
In 2002: she worked in Southwest Jiaotong University; in 2007, pursued advanced studies in University of Calgary in Alberta in Canada; in 2014-2015, she was a Visiting Scholar in China Media Center, University of Westminster, London.
Research Directions: she chiefly works on the research of culture and media, risk communication, public opinion analysis and news business.
Scientific Research Achievements: she presided over a NSSFC project "Research on the Governance of Information Secondary Disasters in Major Emergencies", a provincial-level project "Construction and Evolution of the Images of the Republic of China by Chinese Mainland Media", "Media Construction of Disaster Memory from the Ecological Perspective", "Research on the Status Quo and Development of Sichuan News Ecology", "Analysis of Communication Effect of Government Website" and many other projects;
She published more than 30 papers, such as "Cognition of History, Reconstruction of Memory", "News Expression of Historical Memory", "Image Narration of Oral History", "Role of Party Newspapers in Risk Communication", "Analysis of Communication Effect of Government Website", "Perspective on the Prosperity of Historical News", etc.
She published two monographs, such as "Research on Historical News"; edited and co-edited "Network - Editing in Journalism", "Dianshi Xinwen Caibian Xue", "Cultural and Media Studies", "Network News Communication", "Chuanmei Xuandao Fuwei Gongneng" and other works;
Teaching: she teaches basic courses for undergraduate and master's majors such as "News Editing", "Media Criticism" and "Crisis Communication" for a long time.
