Hu Mingchuan, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Communication, College of Humanities, Southwest Jiaotong University. She worked as a newspaper reporter and editor and engaged in online news editing for many years. Main research interests are Journalism Business and Communication Media Research.

2000.09-2003.07, she obtained the Master of Arts degree in Journalism from Sichuan University, College of Literature and Journalism (Period: 2001.06 - 2003.06 Editor of Tianfu Morning Post).
2005.09-2009.07 She obtained the Doctorate of Literature and Media from Sichuan University, College of Literature and Journalism.
2003.07-up to now, she is teaching in the College of Humanities, Southwest Jiaotong University, as Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and Associate Professor (2009.10).
