Liu Guangyu, comes from Santai County, Sichuan Province, and was born on May, 1964. He is a professor of School of Humanities, doctoreal supervisor and science and technology leader of Sichuan Province.

Research Orientation: film & TV art and communication, Rural culture and communication, creation and theory of documentary film.

Papers: More than 50 papers, namely, Sex for Movies: Concept and Its Expression, Heavy Image and Free Writing, Empirical Analysis on Showing Film in Rural of New China, My Opinion on “Problem Awareness” in Documentary, History and Operation Mechanism of Film Projectionists in Rural Jiangjin, Study on Local Vision of  Documentary Development.

Works: Hundreds of series, namely, Sichuan People in Tibet (10-part series documentary), History of Chongqing (10-part series large-scale cultural documentary), Winds on Highland-Sichuan-Tibet Affection (TV news series report) , Ode to the Party, Ode to Salang.

Scientific Research Projects: Hosts more than 10 social science projects, such as studies on film showing in rural since new China (project later supported by National Social Science Fund), festival images: study on the new shape of anthropologic documentary (art project supported by National Social Science Fund), Ersu Tibetans “ Returning Pheasant Festival” ( sub-project of the special commission project “Chinese festival images”, surpported by National Social Science Fund), Wonen’s Day of Qiang people (sub-project of the special commission project “Chinese festival images”, surpported by National Social Science Fund), lantern show in Zigong (sub-project of the special commission project “Chinese festival images”, surpported by National Social Science Fund), protection and utilization of folk culture and cultural development in new socialist countryside in Chongqing (Chongqing social science plaaned project), study on construction of public service system for film showing and its reform and development strategy and politics in rural (project planned by State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television)
