Liu Rui, Associate Professor, has a Master’s degree. She is a member of the Sichuan Musicians Association and the Deputy Secretary-General of Guzheng Professional Committee of Chengdu Concert Artists Association. She is a teacher of Guzheng in the Department of Music, College of Humanities, Southwest Jiaotong University. She is the conductor of Jinsei Chinese Orchestra of Southwest Jiaotong University, instructor of Lingxiu Zheng Troupe, instructor of Yinyan Zheng Troupe. She is an examiner of the social art level examination of the China Music Association, an examiner of the social art level examination of Sichuan Province, and a judge of the expert pool of the national plucking group of the Chengdu City Art Talent Competition.
She graduated from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music with a degree in Chinese instrumental music (guzheng performance) and studied with the famous guzheng educator Professor Li Ke. She was invited by the French Ministry of Culture to participate in the "Multiplicity of Musical Improvisation Project", to perform in many concerts and exchange activities in Paris, and to participate in the "China Festival" organized by the Confucius Institute of Karlstad University in Sweden. In August 2011, she guided the students of Southwest Jiaotong University to participate in the "The Sixth Sichuan Student Art Festival", and the "Yangguan Sanfei" won the second prize in the provincial professional group, and was awarded the excellent instructor award.
In August 2017, she guided the students of Southwest Jiaotong University to participate in the "Sichuan Student Art Festival", and the "Winter Hunt" won the second prize in the provincial general category, and was awarded the excellent instructor award.
